Two Months Old!

Yesterday our little Kate had her two month birthday!  We can't believe how quickly she is growing and how much she is changing.  I have been so blessed to be able to spend the last two months at home with her, and am dreading going back to work in a week and a half.  However, I'll still get my favorite Kate moment of the day, when she first wakes up, arches her back and makes some grunting noises, then gives me a HUGE smile.  Luckily, we'll still get to share that before work everyday.  To celebrate Kate's birthday, she got to do one of her favorite activities--taking a bath.  I'd like to say this was a special birthday treat, but it really occurred out of necessity.  Our little one managed to have a massive diaper blowout that required some pretty intensive cleaning.  But she enjoyed her tub time, and I enjoyed a clean smelling baby once we were finished.  Once she was dried off and dressed we did some Christmas shopping, then followed up with a nap.  Once Daddy came home, he took Kate shopping with him, and that was followed up with another nap.  Kate has proven to be a good shopping buddy...she doesn't complain and usually just zonks out...and the other shoppers love to tell us how cute she is :-)

Brandon and I also decided to take a big step and to have Kate sleep in her own room.  She had been sleeping in the pack and play in our room, which was convenient, because she was right there, but also meant that we heard every little noise she made.  And trust me, she makes a lot of noises when she sleeps.  So we decided to give the crib a shot.  It was a long night.  Miss Kate just didn't want to go to sleep.  Perhaps it was all the nap-inducing shopping that we did, but that little lady was ready to party.  Since we'll be traveling for the holidays and she'll be sleeping with us anyway, I think we'll hold off on giving the crib another try, at least until after Christmas.

This morning was Kate's two month check-up at the doctor.  Daddy took her and Mommy stayed home so she didn't have to witness the immunizations.  Brandon said that Kate took the shots like a champ, and again the doctor was very happy with her growth and progress.  Our little bean is now tipping the scales at 10 lbs 4 oz, and 21 3/4 inches.

Here are some pictures from Kate's big two-month b-day...
