Kate's First First Christmas

Sometime tonight or tomorrow morning, Brandon and I are going to pack up the Jeep with Christmas gifts, snacks, winter clothes, Copper and Kate, and we'll head to Iowa for Kate's first Christmas.  We have always tried to see both families around Christmas, usually spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Iowa, and going to Pittsburgh for New Year's or sometime earlier in December.  However, this year, we decided that it might be a little much to travel that far with Kate, so we won't be going to Pennsylvania.  The 12 hour car ride didn't sound like it would be all that much fun, and neither of us was crazy about flying with her just yet.  So we packed up all of the gifts for my family and mailed them to Pittsburgh, and we received a big box in the mail from my mom.  Last night, we opened them up, and Kate had the first of many first Christmases.  Here are some photos from that evening.

-- Not only did we have gifts from Mommy's family, we had presents from Tanya and Isabella too! I love my puppy!  Thank you Smith ladies! --

-- This gift was labeled "open first", so Mommy did --

-- This one said "open second", so Daddy got a turn --

-- It was a nativity set...and Daddy was really excited about the Wise Men! --

-- Now it's my turn! --

-- Grandma Joey says every baby needs a tie dyed onesie --

-- Copper thinks that opening presents is hard work --

-- When Mommy was growing up, her family read The Night Before Christmas every Christmas Eve, so Grandma Joey got me my very own copy.  I can't wait to read it! --

-- Uncle Pat got me some Pittsburgh Penguins gear...Mommy put the hat on me and I kind of look like I work at Dunkin Donuts! --

-- Showing me off --

-- I got an ornament with my name on it! --

-- I'm practicing holding on to things! --

-- Even Copper got a gift --

-- Mommy opening her presents --

-- Daddy was pretty excited for his jumper cables, and now we'll have them for the trip to Iowa (but hopefully won't need them!) --

-- Our new Nativity looks beautiful! --

Wish us luck on our journey to Iowa...we'll be posting lots of pictures when we get home!  Merry Christmas everyone!  We love you!  XOXO
