Four Months!

Today is Kate's four month birthday!  We celebrated by going to visit Dr. Garrison so Kate could get checked out--and another round of shots :-(

She weighs 13.5 lbs, and is 25 inches long.  The doctor says everything looks good, and we should keep doing what we've been doing!

-- I want to smile, but I can't stop looking at the camera! --

-- Being four months old is hard work!  What a day! --

Valentine's Day

Kate celebrated her first Valentine's Day by wearing a festive outfit and taking her teachers at school some candy.  She even got valentines from her Grandmas!  We managed to snap a few pictures before it was time to head out in the morning...good thing too because her outfit didn't survive the day :-)

-- When Kate is a teenager and screams that she hates me, I'm going to stare at this picture...so sweet --

Meeting Those Milestones!

Kate's learning and growing so fast!  Every time we turn around, it seems she's learned something new.  Here are a few things she's amazed us with in the past week or so...

-- She's found her toes!  And they're oh-so-fun to play with!
-- She blows raspberries!  Thanks to the other kiddos in Room 7 at the CDC, our little bug makes a new noise.
-- She thinks peek-a-boo is a pretty fun time!  Finally, she laughs when you reappear...like it's the most exciting thing she's ever seen!
-- She likes to chase her puppy...and pet him when she catches him!  When I say pet, I really mean grab a fistful of hair and pull it, but we're working on it...and Copper's been a very good sport :-)
-- She laughs when you get this hiccups!  I was not amused by this, as I don't laugh at her when she has the hiccups, but she thought it was hilarious when I had a nasty bought with them the other day.
-- And finally....drumroll please...she rolls over!  Here's a little video of her latest and greatest skill...

February :-)

We can't believe that February is more than halfway over!  Where did the month go?!?  We've had a pretty exciting month that's kept us very busy.  We hosted a Super Bowl party where we served make-your-own-nachos (and had so many leftovers that we ate Mexican food for a week!  Tacos, burritos, quesadillas...you name it!) and all dressed in Pittsburgh clothes.  Kate finally got to meet her Auntie Boo--for those of you that don't know, we called my sister Beth "Boo" when we were growing up--when she came to visit for a few days.  It was so nice to see her and I had such a great time watching her interact with Kate.  We can't wait until she comes to visit again.  While she was here we had a bit of excitement when the house got hit by lightening.  We're not sure if we were hit directly or not, but we've got quite a bit of damage.  Most of our electronics are shot, and we've got some work on the house that needs to be done.  We still don't have our TVs back, but we've got the internet, so I'll blog to keep me busy :-)

Here are some photos from the first half of February...

-- This is why I might need that hair piece...I've got a giant bald spot!! --

-- Wearing jeans and a white t-shirt, just like Daddy --

-- I want my pacifier, and I want to chew on my cow...what to do, what to do... --

-- Playing with Sophie the Giraffe...Since we haven't quite mastered holding onto things, it looked a little like an episode of National Geographic (the animal print pants didn't help)... --

-- The pink and gray leopard stalks her prey... --

-- And she pounces! --

-- Copper can only watch what's happening to poor Sophie --

-- Watching some Bath Crashers on a Saturday morning (RIP TV) --

Until next time! XOXO
